Could Lorcaserin Be The Next Weight Loss Wonder Pill?

Lorcaserin, which is manufactured by Arena Pharmaceuticals, is only one of the three drugs that is raising the hopes as an effective weight loss medication. One of the lowest points for diet pills was back in 1997 when the extremely popular fenphen got pulled off the shelves when it was discovered that it was tied in with many heart valve problems.

Now, in 2010 is Lorcaserin, which is a round blue tablet that could definitely be the first novel weight loss pill if it wins the approval of the Food and Drug Administration. This weight loss pill targets the same pathway of the appetite that fenphen did, but it is much more selective and safer in the manner in which it goes about it.
