The unveiling of the new generation 2011 Ford Explorer has finally been released by the big Blue Oval. The new Ford Explorer is to be powered with a 3.5 liter V-6 engine that can develop 290 horsepower and 225 pounds–foot of torque that promises to offer the best in its class of fuel economy with an added bonus of five thousand pounds of towing capability.

The 2011 Ford Explorer will offer SUV customers what they have been wanting for a long time with a broad range of trim levels, customer convenience, and connectivity technologies that will raise the eyebrows among even luxury SUV owners.

The 2011 Ford Explorer will also be available with an Eco-Boost 2.0-liter I-4 engine that develops 237 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 250 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,700 and 4,000 rpm. This amazing SUV will be offered with a unique six-speed transmission as well as a Select-Shift Automatic transmission on the XLT and Limited trim levels.

In order for drivers to better cope with off road bit of life, the 2011 Ford Explorer comes with a new 4WD system and a terrain management that offers the driver the choice between four settings on a center console-mounted knob.

The equipment list of the 2011 Ford Explorer includes a Sony Audio System with HD Radio, an SD card reader, RCA video input jacks, and a an 8-inch LCD screen with intuitive five-way controls. The price list will be announced at a later date.

SUV consumers are not interested in having to compromise their luxury, convenience, or technologically with any of their all road capabilities, but now they do not have to with the new 2011 Ford Explorer.

The 2011 Ford Explorer has challenged the SUV status quo by offering luxury levels with highly equipped base models that includes MyFord driver connect technology through the volume-series XLT to the luxurious Limited series. The Explorer also provides SUV buyers unexpected technologies and conveniences normally found in only premium SUVs.
